Joseph C. Sommes, administrator of Alex LeRoy with confession of judgement to E and J Law

Description: A promissory note for $405.93 dated June 11, 1841 Lousiville, Ky that was due in 12 months payable to the firm of E and J law (Emory and Jones Law). A promissory note dated June 11, 1841 Louisville, Ky that was due within 6 months for $394.41 payable to E and J Law. Both notes are signed by Alexis Leroy. A document entitled Public Instrument of Protest is filed on the promissory note of $394.41 by Alexis Leroy. The document is dated December 14, 1841 and is brought before Salomon Rathborne, Notary of Vincennes. He states that the draft after being presented could not be paid at present and he has notified the drawers and endorsers by notices in the Post Office of Louisville. The document was filed August 14, 1843 by M. R. McCord. A confession of judgement is filed. The judgement is given over to E and J Law by Joseph Sommes, administrator.
