A Scire-Facias petition by the State of Indiana to the Knox County Sheriff stating on August 14, 1843, Emery and James Low had a judgement awarded against Joseph Somes, administrator of Alexis LeRoy for $898.56 plus $1.36 plus $92 to be levied of assets of the sued descendants estate which was in the hands of the administrator. The defendant is summoned to appear before the judge on the second Monday of June to show why they have not paid and why damages should not be levied against them. Witness in the suit is W. R. McCord, Clerk. The document was filed April 29, 1851 with a notation on the back by C. M. Allen, attorney for the defendant stating that the estate of LeRoy is insolvent. A Scire-Facias petition by the State of Indiana to Sheriff of Knox County is filed November 22, 1844. A judgement against Joseph Somes, administrator of Alexis LeRoy for $120.82 in damages is levied of the descendants. The court orders him to appear on the 2nd Monday of June and give reason why the damages should not be considered against him. The witness was W. R. McCord. In response C. M Allen, attorney for the defendant, states the estate is insolvent. A receipt for the Scire Facias dated April 21, 1851 showing judgements in the cases is filed. |
