The firm of Miller & Cooper, owned by Daniel Miller and John Cooper, are asking the firm of Joshua Mitchell, Esq. of Philadelphia, Pa. to take depositions from Chalky Somers, James M. Reading and others for proof on the account filed against the firm of Striker & Maxwell. Henry P. Brokaw is the administrator of the estate of Henry P. Striker. The dedimus is filed by Alderman Joshua Mitchell on March 10, 1844. Henry P. Striker administrator of the estate, notes that he received the dedimus on March 11, 1844 in Vincennes. A deposition of Chalky Somers, and James M. Reading is sworn and subscribed on March 28, 1842 before Joshua Mitchell, both state the account is belonging to the firm of Maxwell & Striker. A listing of the account by descriptions and cost is signed by Daniel Miller with a notation saying that the account is owed to him by the firm of Maxwell & Striker. The amount owed is $486.28. Judgment of the account was filed May 12, 1842 in the amount of $525.16 and is filed by William R. McCord, Clerk and Davis Reynolds, Deputy Clerk. |
