Reneau, Joseph vs James R McCall

Description: On September 6, 1816, Cecile Deneau took out letters of administration upon the estate of Charles Deneau (aka Rene) and entered into a bond of $1000 with William McIntosh and James B. McCall for her security. They have been accused of from that day to the present day of having not filed an inventory of the property, goods, chattels and effects, rights, and credits of the deceased, or of sales, or of the schedule of debts. A large sum of money is more or less due June 1817. It is owed in the sum of $150 due to Deneau by the U. S. for his time as a Ranger. The petitioner states that on or about July 22, 1814 a promissory note to Madam Marie Julie Bisayon the wife of Joseph Deneau, for the sum of $13.25 payable at the U. S. Rangers stationed in Indiana was made. The orator also says Cecile Deaneau departed this life 4 years ago and that no one has administrated her estate. That William McIntosh now lives in Illinois and that James McCall lives in Terre Haute. A summons to bring James McCall to court to settle the estate was issued April 5, 1832 and was signed Joseph Reneau. A summons is issued for James B McCall and William McIntosh for them to appear in probate court on the first Monday in June 1832 to answer to a bill filed against them by Joseph Reneau in right of his wife Marie Julie. A $1000 penalty if they fail to appear. This was witnessed by Daniel Clark Johnson, Clerk of Probate Court, April 7, 1832. A notation on the back by Sheriff C. G. Taylor states that the persons named are not in his bailiwick. His fees are listed as $3.70.
