Carrol, Barney vs. John Springer

Description: Civil court case in which Barney Carrol was suing John Springer for $100.00 damages for the trover and conversion of a gray horse in Vincennes. Carrol alleged that Springer had found his lost horse and that Springer had used the horse for his own purposes. The year date the horse was lost and found is unclear on the complaint. The jury found for the defendant. According to the Minute Book, the defendant paid court costs. The defendant’s attorney filed a motion to recover the costs from the plaintiff.
