Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Gustavas Zoellen, dated September 3, 1885. Gustavas first enlisted on August 20, 1861 as Private in Company A 31st Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on December 31, 1863. Gustavas re-enlisted on January 1, 1864 as Private in Company A 31st Regiment of the Infantry (State omitted) and was discharged on December 8, 1865. Gustavas application was recommended by Robert Hines. Examining Committee members were James F. Murphy and Frank Brown. Applicant Elected and Mustered September 17, 1885. No. on Des. Book: 448.
