Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of George Gordon, dated May 12, 1881. George first enlisted on April 17, 1861 as a Musician in Company D 11th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on August 5, 1861. George re-enlisted on February 1, 1864 as a Musician in Company K 31st Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on December 8, 1865. Georges application was recommended by Benjamin Murray. Examining Committee members were H. Winter, J.F. Murphy, and D. Denny. Applicant Elected and Mustered May 19, 1881. Number on Des. Book and Adjutant information omitted. William H. Armstrong, Post Commander.
