This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of John A. Rusk, dated September 17, 1879. John first enlisted on May 4, 1862 as Private in Company H 19th Regiment of the U.S. Regulars and was discharged on June 10, 1864. John re-enlisted on April 3, 1865 as Private in Company C 65 Consolidated Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers and was discharged on July 13, 1865. Johns application was recommended by Charles M. Smith. Examining Committee members were William H. Armstrong, L. Burget, and J.W. Haley. Applicant Elected, Mustered, Number on Des. Book, Adjutant, and Post Commander information omitted. |
