Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of James Rush, dated October 1, 1891. James first enlisted on May 16, 1864 as Private in Company F 137th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was discharged on September 21, 1864. James re-enlisted on February 2, 1865 as Private in Company D 146th Regiment (State omitted) and was discharged on August 31, 1865. James application was recommended by Robert Hines. Examining Committee members were Con Murphy, L.G. Benson, and Henry Winter. Applicant Elected and Mustered October 1, 1891. No. on Des. Book: 632.
