Oscar Rankin GAR application

Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of Oscar Rankin, dated December 6, 1883. Oscar first enlisted on June 7, 1861 as Private in Company F 14th Regiment of the Indiana Infantry and was discharged on September 5, 1863. Oscar re-enlisted on March 26, 1864 as 1st Lieutenant in Company G 119th Indiana Cavalry and was discharged on October 29, 1864. Oscars application was recommended by George W. Miller. Examining Committee members were J.E. Voorhees and James F. Murphy. Applicant Elected December 20, 18?3 and Mustered January 3, 18?4. Number on Des. Book: 388. Miller, Adjutant; M.C. Rankin, Post Commander.
