Description: This is the Grand Army of the Republic application of John Boyd, dated September 5, 1895. John first enlisted in June 1862 as a Private in Company B 54th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on September 2, 1862. John re-enlisted in Company D 156th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers and was discharged on June 6, 1865. Johns application was recommended by Solomon R. Meader. Examining Committee members were J. A. Anderson, John Beley, and James W. Haley. Applicant Elected and Mustered September 5, 1895. No. on Des. Book: 694. John C. Hass, Adjutant; Henry A. Winter, Post Commander.
