Composition papier-mache doll

Description: This is a composition and papier mache doll of German construction. The body is cloth and stuffed with straw. The eyes are brown glass and the hair is thin mohair. The mouth is open with teeth and the doll is dressed in old baby clothing. The doll is in fair condition with the original finish washed off. The doll stands 30 inches (76.2 cm tall). The fingers and back of neck are damaged.
Origin: 2004
Contributor(s): This doll was originally a Christmas present for Goldie E. (Slusser) Hendrick on December 25, 1897 when she was 11 years old (born 1-22-1886 and died 1-20-1974). The donors were Mrs. Irma Rector and Miss Mary Hedrick. The current clothing is all original with the exception of the socks (donor does not remember where the socks came from).
