Description: |
A pair of sniper glasses used in both the Confederate and Union armies from 1861-1865. These glasses were issued to small sharp shooter units that served as an early form of snipers. The glasses kept smoke and debris out of the marksmans eyes while in combat. The lenses served to reduce glare and were fogged around the edges to nullify the shooters peripheral vision allowing them to focus. The fogging covers the majority of the lenses with exception to the center of each lens which is clear but tinted as with the rest of the lenses. |
