Description: |
This newspaper clipping reads, I never fail to have mixed feeling of pride and admiration when I attend a program put on by S. H. S. Chorus. I have pride in the fact that a group of kids from our community can render so near a professional performance, and admiration for a man so dedicated to good music that by relentless practice he comes up with a quality of tone from this young group which is amazing. I hope all of the parents consider themselves lucky and appreciate the fact that their children have a man with the ability of Harry Jarrett as their vocal director. The chorus gave a top performance Sunday and I was a little disappointed in the applause at the end of the program, but Im sure that everyone was in one accord when they stood for the Hallelujah Chorus - that To Bethlehem Singing could never be prettier by any group and that we were all a little more humble and closer to the meaning of Christmas. -Josephine Powell |
