Indiana Grand Army of the Republic encampment parade, Princeton, Indiana, 1925

Description: First is an automobile turning to go down Main Street from State Street. There are American flags mounted on the hood with patriotic bunting across the hood. Behind the automobile are 2 males holding the banner W.R.C. (i.e. Womens Relief Corps, Archer Corps No. 31) auxiliary to the Grand Army of the Republic, Princeton. Next is a truck decorated in fringe around the front and sides, American flags, patriotic bunting, and the letters W.R.C. On the bed there is a lady standing dressed as Miss Liberty under a canopy of patriotic bunting and crepe paper. Behind the float the auxiliary marches two abreast dressed in white with a sash from the shoulder to the waist with stars on it and hats. Some are carrying the American flag They are followed by another automobile. People are lining both sides of the street. The lamp posts are decorated in patriotic bunting with GAR. Several of the buildings are flying the American flag. You can see the following buildings: Walsh Decorating Co., Purdy Confectionery, McCulloughs Cafe, Princeton Water and Lighting Co., Book Shoe Shoppe, Applegath, J. C. Penny Co., and Peoples American National Bank.
