Front view of a postcard which shows the graded school in Montezuma, Indiana known as the Montezuma Academy. The view shown was taken around 1915 and the bell tower was built 1863-64. The first principal was Professor C. Craig and the first class of three graduated in 1879. The school was located at the corner of Madison and Miles Streets. Later on the small framed building on the right was used for manual training and domestic science classes. |
