Description: |
This is a color photograph of the remains of the Thomas C. Rockwell house in Penn Township, Parke County, Indiana. Two miles west of Annapolis near Foundry Hollow, it is a brick structure originally built by William G. Coffin in the early 1850s from locally sourced bricks salvaged from his previous house. The family of Horace Cannon, father of Representative Joseph Cannon, lived here for a short time. The house was destroyed by fire in 1930. Thomas C. II (1863-1952) was the son of Thomas and Catharine Rickle Rockwell. He married Frances Wildman on 9 October 1884. This item was donated by Charles Davis. |
