This is a black and white photograph of the eastern face of the Parke County Service Honor Roll which was located on the northeast corner of the courthouse yard in Rockville, Indiana. Looking west can be seen the businesses on the west side of the town square. Sponsored by local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #748, donations over $800.00 were raised for its construction. It was dedicated in July 1943 with dedication rites being performed by the VFW. The ceremony was presided over by county school superintendent Gerald Alexander with guest speaker Homer Capehart. This item was donated by John Morris. |
