This is a color photograph of the weather station run by Fred Baker on East York Street in Rockville, Indiana. It was here he recorded statistics for the National Weather Service. Baker (1885-1961) was the son of Charles H. and Martha Lewis Baker. The single story frame building was on the site of the pottery business run by his grandfather Samuel N. Baker from 1833 to 1860 and continued by his sons until 1873. The building was torn down in 2012. This item was donated by Lynn Lee. |
