This article recounts the major championship games starting with the game Clinton protested which began an eligibility controversy surrounding Margaret. The protest went before Bob Bushee, Indiana Junior Baseball chairman, Dan Sowers, founder of Junior American Legion baseball, and finally Kenesaw Mountain Landis, Commissioner of baseball. Landis ruled that Margaret was eligible and her team the Blanford Cubs went on to win the Indiana state championship. The next year the rules were changed so that only boys could play. |
