Knox County court record for Bruner estate vs. Sondriet, et.al, 1846

Description: Folder 6484 in Box 121 of Knox County Circuit Court records at the Knox County Public Library’s McGrady-Brockman House contains two documents in the case of estate of Samuel Bruner (administrator John B. Martin) vs. Sondriet (Sondrist, Sanderette), Askew, & Abdel. On April 16, 1846 John Martin complained to the court that he had been awarded a judgement of $20.00 in damages and $1.05 for cost of suit. He claimed the defendants, Francis Sondriet, William Askew, and Hiram Abdel, a man of color, had refused to pay him. Martin asked the court to review the court records and have the defendants held accountable. The two documents in the folder are the letter sent by the court to apprehend the three defendants and a document filed on September 17, 1840 that is illegible. There is no other information as to the outcome of this case.
