Mrs. J. J. Schlicher, who gave an interesting travel talk illustrated by post cardviews, Hilda Hathaway, who read Henry VanDykes story, The Mansion, and Miss AnneCox.The second week in February, our speakeris to be Miss Julia Kipp of Aligarth, India. She has spent a number of years there, andthough traveling in the interest of the boardof the Methodist Church, has consented to tellthe girls some interesting stories of her experiences. She will exhibit an Indian costume, and will sing some Indian songs.Friday evening, February fifth, the two associations held their joint receptions in therooms on the third floor. There was a good attendance in spite of the miserable weather, andthe various families had an old-fashionedgood time, playing games and becoming acquainted.Howeer it be, it seems to me,Tis only noble to be good.Kind hearts are more than coronets,And simple faith than Norman blood.—Tennyson.
