of InterestTHE SENIOR SOCIAL.LAST months Advance stated that theSeniors had not been very active in socialaffairs, but hinted that a social would be givenin the near future which might cause some surprises. And cause some surprise it did! Eventhe fondest dreams of those most interestedin its success were more than realized. Morethan a hundred students attended, and there isnot one but that will say it was one of thegreatest functions of its kind in the history ofthe school. This was the first social under thenew rules, and the authorities suggested thatthe Seniors set the pace. From all reports,if the other classes run even a close second itwill take an immense amount of hustling.Of course dancing was the chief amusementof the evening, the program consisting of boththe old and the new dances. The mens gymnasium floor was in excellent condition, and wascomfortably filled. For those who did not careto dance, entertainment was provided in thewomens gymnasium. The program consistedof an old-fashioned spelling match, a Yale-Harvard baseball game, and a silhouette contest. In a conspicuous place was an attraction thatdid not escape the notice of any. This was agreat punch bowl, which fairly groaned at theliberality of its patronage. Surely, the red fluidflowed with true northern lavishness. Wafersalso were served. It was shown at this social that the studentsare in hearty sympathy with the new rules onsocials, and appreciate the action of the Facultyin granting the concession. If there was a single thing to mar the complete pleasure of those present, it was the persistency of the clock hands in moving abouttwice as fast as it seemed they should.Profs. Schockel, Weng, Sandison, Baxter,Botsford and Miss McCrum were the chaperons.THE ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CLUB.During the Fall term, the meetings of theSt. Thomas Aquinas Club were very interesting, as well as instructive. The clubs wideawake gathering of Tuesday, Jan. 12, indicatesthat the meetings are to be even better this term, and the worthy president, Mr. Kiel, is veryenthusiastic. All Catholic students are invitedto spend an enjoyable and profitable half hourevery Tuesday afternoon at 3 :30, the guests ofthe St. Thomas Aquinas Club. When youve got a job to doDo it now!If its one you wish was throughDo it now!If youre sure the jobs your own,Just tackle it. alone.Dont hem and haw and groanDo it now!
