A ladyoccupying apartments over their heads heardthe conversation and called the police, and thethree men, fearing detection, turned and fled.Mr. Wright says that the man with the gunturned away first and made better speed thaneither of the other two.Prof. Kelso left New York on the 20th for afive weeks recreation trip to South America.The entire school join in wishing to him a verypleasant and enjoyable trip. During his absence Robin W. R. Stewart, of Newport, Indiana, aDaedalian, visited at the Normal, January 31.Mr. and Mrs Homer B. Reed, of Hammond,Indiana, announce the birth on January 26, ofa baby daughter, Mary Elizabeth. Mrs. Reedw7as formerly Miss Anna Dale Cole, of the classof 1906. Mr. Reed received his Ph. D. fromthe University of Chicago last spring.Miss Mae Elliott is teaching the fourth andfifth grades at Hillsdale, Indiana,Prof. Baxter and Miss Pearl Sidenius attended the basket ball game.Prof. Wency gave a very interesting chapeltalk on the exchange of teachers between theschools of America and those of other countries, particularly of Germany.Miss Tilla Von Talge is teaching English inthe AAraveland High School.Miss Lottie Grimes visited her cousin, MissJune Manor, during the first week of school.Miss Jennette Lewis is teaching music anddrawing at Pendleton, Indiana.Miss Tinling, national lecturer on ScientificTemperance for the W. C. T. U, gave an interesting series of talks under the auspices ofthe Y. M. and Y. W. C.
