Description: 258THE NORMAL ADVANCELE CEYGJAS.Mrs. Lardner entertained Le Ceygjas at herbeautiful home in Maple avenue, Saturdayafternoon, April 24, from 2 oclock until 8. Theafternoon was delightfully spent in guessingcontests, such as only Mrs. Lardner could conceive of, and writing and singing some newChapter songs. At 6 oclock a dainty two-course luncheon was served. The guests wereMisses Stella Harcourt, Beulah Staples, Gertrude Cope, Grace Colglazier, Etta Walter,Lucy Smith,. Etta Brandenberry, FlorenceThompson, Margaret Reitzel, Etta Eberhartand Vergie Jenkins. Mrs. Lardner was assistedin entertaining by Misses Helen Butler andFrances Goldman.Miss Gertrude Gamon has moved with herparents to Arkansas.Miss Ava Carter will spend the summer withher sister in Iowa.MU ZETA.The Mu Zetas held their first meeting of thespring term at the home of Kathryn Kester,Saturday, April 14. The afternoon was spentin conversation and music, after which ices,cakes and mints were served. Guests of theSection were Miss Hazel Wyrick of DePauwUniversity, and Miss Fleming.The Mu Zeta Chapter were hostesses for aPink Tea given by the Womans League, Friday afternoon, April 23d. A delightful program was rendered by Mr. Ray Hampson. TheAssociation rooms were decorated with variouscollege and sorority pennants. The Mu Zetacolors, pink and white, were used in the diningroom.On Saturday, May 8, the Mu Zetas had planned a picnic to the woods, but on account of theweather, the plans were changed, and a jollyspread was enjoyed at Miss Laura Minturnsapartments in the Davis Flats. A musical program was furnished by Miss Minturn and MissB. Pearl Ellis, who has returned recently fromher study in New York.Miss Isabelle Cadden, who has been teachingLatin in the Orleans high school. Miss Cora DeWeese, of Plainfield, and Miss Elizabeth Cole,of Morristowm, former members of the Chapter,are in school again.OMEGA.The Omega Sorority met at the home of MissMary Flaherty, 119 South Thirteenth street,May 1, for the purpose of initiating some newmembers. But as there weie only twTo candidatespresent the initiation was postponed until May8. Instead, the girls sat in a circle before a.cozy fire and told progressive stories. Refreshments of fruits and mints were served. Thosepresent were the Misses Hazel Davis, Iris Fish,Wilma Goehner, Grace Weaver, Edna Lloyd,Elizabeth Peyton, Mildred Flaherty, Nola Williams and Mary Flaherty.Miss Nola Williams entertained the OmegaSection May 8, at her home, 463 South Twelfthstreet. The feature of the afternoon was theinitiation of four new members and of MissMaude Julian, an old member, who had repeatedly evaded that ordeal. The girls were takenthrough a series of laughable stunts. Light refreshments wTere served, the new girls tryingtheir hand at serving. Despite the severe rainstorm and a much too salty dessert, for whichthe new members receive the honor, all had ajolly good time. Those present w7ere the MissesGrace Weaver, Wilma Goehner, Leona Win-gerd, Cora Nugent, Hazel Davis, Mary Flaherty, Edna Lloyd, Elizabeth Peyton, HazelSowers and Nola Williams.PI ZETA.Miss Gertrude Miller gave an informal reception at her home in Center street, in honorof the Pi Zetas, April 19. After a well orderedprogram refreshments were served to the following guests: Misses Manion, Helt, Gobin,Carr, Bodenhafer, Black, Ross, Cordes, Harris,Caralton, Camelle, Wood, Frist, Fitzgibbon,Thorp, Broadhurst and Densford.Misses Myrtle Frist and Helen Wood, old
