Mail Matter.A QUESTION sometimes asked is—In
* *■ which month of the year do women talk
the least, and men think the least? To the
comfort of many and to the regret of many
more perhaps, this month in question has ar¬
rived. Thus we respectfully dedicate this num¬
ber of the Advance to the women of the In¬
diana State Normal School. We have not
taken time to look into the history of the paper
to see if a precedent for such a move existed.
Whatever the traditions of the past may have
been concerning this matter, it remains true
that whatever is done by the women of the
school is done well. Hence we have no hesi¬
tancy in dedicating this issue to them and have
no apologies to offer for violating custom, if in¬
deed there be no precedent for such action. On the first pages of the paper is published
a series of chapel talks delivered by Miss
Moran. They were given during the earlier
part of the term and proved as interesting per¬
haps as any series of talks yet heard from the
chapel platform. These are followed by other
articles prepared by female students of the
school. In fact only one or two departments of
the paper have been retained for the indulgence
of the sterner sex.JUNE ANNUAL.We would again remind Students and Facul¬
ty of our June Annual. Extensive plans are be¬
ing laid to make it an attractive number and1
details are being worked out with accuracy. But
plans and aspirations.fail unless we have the
hearty support and co-operation of all. Ac¬
cordingly, if the Art Editors issue instructions
regarding pictures for the Annual, they are
making only such requests as are consistent
with the best welfare of the paper and are
making them at such a time as will permit
ample time to have the best engraving possible.
Pictures of Seniors and Faculty members are
due now. Definite instructions regarding these
were printed in last months issue. The thing
remaining for you to do is to act and act
promptly.SUBSCRIPTIONS DUE.Our Circulation Manager reports that there
are still a dozen unpaid yearly subscriptions of
seventy-five cents each. These have been due
since December the fifteenth. No doubt your
subscription is paid, but if for any reason you
have neglected to do so, kindly pay Carmichael
as soon as possible. This is necessary in order
that all bills may be met promptly, and that
all the affairs of the paper may be conducted
on strict business principles. |
