102THE NORMAL ADVANCETo the favors, white roses, artistically arranged in
a French basket, were attached hand-painted place
cards by means of long lavender streamers. The
place cards were the work of Miss Jamie Delay.
The members present were: Theodora Sauer,
Doris Drake, Hazel Kiefner, Gertrude Leonard,
Edna Glick, Patty McCullom, Marie Carter, Zel-
pha Burkett, Marguerite Kisner, Margaret Ellis,
Marguerite Dunkin, Geneva Smock, Loretta Kel-
ley, Gladys McClung, Helen Jones, Jamie Delay,
Florence Hurt and Doyne Koonce. The guests
were: Esther Arnold, Helene Casey, Ruth Camp-
hell, Inez McClung, Mary Westbrook and Ethel
Frisz. The chaperon was Mrs. Edward Kiefner.Miss Edna Peyton, of 1233 South Fourth street,
gave a watch party for the Llamarada girls on
New Years eve. The house was decorated with
bells, holly and mistletoe. The evening was spent
in various kinds of amusement, one of the most
pleasing features being a penny walk. Fred
Phillipott and Helen Trent won the prize for
being good walkers.Refreshments of sandwiches, olives, pickles, cof¬
fee and cake were served. The new year was
ushered in with much merrymaking and various
resolutions were made by all present.Those who participated in this most enjoyable
party were the Misses Helen Trent, Gertrude
Force, Audrey Bumgartner, Grace Nantz,
Kathryn Nantz, Grace Golay, Addie Harris, Edna
Peyton, and the Messrs. Phillipotte, Weathers,
Mahan, Bremercamp, Shotwell, Trotter, Sublette
and Logan.The Mu Zeta section was entertained Saturday,
December 23d, by Miss Esther Newton, Miss
Reba Arbogast and Miss Gladys Rippetoe at the
home of the latter in Hancock street. Sewing was
the principal diversion of the afternoon. Miss
Marguerite Allen rendered several beautiful piano
solos.After the delicious refreshments were served
each girl received a gift from the Xmas box.
Quite a delightful time was enjoyed by all present.On New Years day one of the most charming
of the open house parties was given by the Mu
Zeta section to all the former members from 2 :30
to 5 :30 at the home of Esther Newton, 46 -South
Thirteenth and a Half street. Other friends called
during the receiving hour.Vocal and instrumental music was rendered by
different members of the section.A delicious collation, consisting of sandwiches,
salad and tea, was served in the dining room to
all present.After the guests had departed an appetizing
supper was served to the members, followed by a
theater partyat the Grand.On Tuesday morning, January 6, the Mu Zetas
had a breakfast party at the Y. W. C. A. tea
room. The members and guests present were the
Misses Winsinger, Allen, Costelow, Provines, Ar¬
bogast, Rippetoe, St. Clair, Newton, White,
Smith, Bodenhafer, Cantan, Mygrant, Campbell,
Horstmann, DeFrees.Miss Mary Richard, of 1606 College avenue,
entertained the members of the Omega Sorority
with a Christmas party Saturday, December 13.
The house was decorated in the Christmas colors
of red and green. Bells and crepe paper in these
colors were festooned from the chandeliers to the
corners of the room.The members of the sorority brought exchange
gifts which were numbered. Small bells contain¬
ing numbers were fastened to the spoons used in
the luncheon, and these were matched with the
numbers on the gifts. Musical selections were
given by Miss Aldine Richard and Miss Helena
Barnes.Those present were the Misses Ada Denelsbeck,
Clara Shanks, Edna Lloyd, Elizabeth Freuden-
reich, Ellen Davis, Elsie Higi, Gwendolyn Vol-
kers, Helena Freitag, Katherine Flaherty, Mar¬
garet Killroy, Meta Glaevecke, Mildred Flaherty,
Nellie Root, Nola Williams, Rachael Schaffer,
Mary Flaherty and Stella Taylor.Miss Margaret Killroy entertained the soror¬
ity with a dinner party in honor of Miss Daphne
