Description: THE NORMAL ADVANCE45Claste ©rgant^attonsiSENIOR. I HI ERE is always fair weather
* When good Seniors get together. So it was on Friday evening, October 24,
1913, when the Seniors met in the music room
where the following entertaining program was
given:Vocal Solo Gladys RippetoePiano Solo Esther NewtonReading Gertrude SingletonAfter the program, the members of the class
heartily entered into the games, but even a
Senior meeting cant last long when a Sopho¬
more Halloween party is in progress. Some
one suggested, Lets go. It was no sooner
said than done, and lured by the light of the
jack-o-lanterns and sounds of revelry, the
Seniors made their way to the association
rooms, where they were welcomed and enter¬
tained by the Sophomores. The next meeting will be held November 14,
1913. Mrs. Dever will entertain with readings.
A representative to the Board of Control of the
Advance will be elected, and class colors will
be chosen.SOPHOMORES.The Sophomore Halloween social, held in
the Y. M. C. A. rooms Friday night, Octo¬ber 23, was a complete success. The room was
prettily decorated, and the officers of that class
had arranged a nice program, which was skill¬
fully carried out under their management.
Some of the most interesting events were the
mask dance card, with which every one was
supplied at the door, was filled out by the
boys as a card would be made out for a regu¬
lar dance. Then when the dances were called
each young man found his partner and spent
five minutes in getting acquainted, or if al¬
ready acquainted spent the time visiting to¬
gether. Every one made new friends and was
pleased with the novel way in which it was
accomplished.Another interesting feature was the fortune-
telling, which took place in a separate corner
of the room, and was performed by two un¬
known gypsy fortune-tellers of unquestionable
ability. And best of all was the good dough¬
nuts, the country cider, and the apples, to
which all had free access. The Sophomores have good material to en¬
ter into the cider meet and hope to make a good
showing on that day. We also have some fast
basket ball men, and even though some are
small of stature we expect to have a splendid
class team.Put your strength into the doing of your
work, and the question of stability and success
will settle itself.—William Mathews.
