Description: Completed in 1962, and the first building in the city to be taller than the Soldiers and Sailors Monument, the City-County Building remained the tallest building in Indianpolis unitl 1970. This view is of the north side of the building from Washinton Street.From the back of the postcard: This majestic building as seen from the Fairbanks Jewelry Co., is an excellent example of artistry in glass, steel, and concrete in the New Downtown Indianapolis. The $25,000,000 building is home to city and county administrative offices. The twenty-eight story tower with a glass-enclosed observation deck at the top is centered between two five-story wings.
