Description: Two men lettering a sign that reads Winona Summer Schools - Normal School and College.The Herron School of Art offered commercial lettering and outdoor advertising classes taught by Burling Boaz, Jr. (1891-1968) at the Herron Summer School at Winona Lake between at least 1924 and 1930. According to The Herron Chronicle (Indiana University Press, 2003), the Winona Hotel was the schools headquarters and the classes were offered for six weeks at $7.50 to $9.00 per week.
