Description: |
As viewed from the roof of Jordan Hall, this HVAC equipment sits in front of Schwitzer Hall. The dormitory opened as a residence hall for women in 1956 with a capacity for 226 students. In the 1960s, two, three-story wings were added to the north side of the building, one of which is shown in this photograph. This created space for an additional 210 students. Due to the increasing costs of renovation and the dorms lack of ADA accessibility, the dorm was torn down in 2016 so that a new dorm could be built in its place. A portion of Atherton Union is visible on the left side of the photograph. |
