Description: |
The Richard M. Fairbanks Center for Communication and Technology as viewed from the roof of Jordan Hall. During the dedication ceremony for the building on September 21, 2001, a time capsule was sealed in one of the walls of the building. Coordinated by the Butler University Chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the included items represented the four departments located in the building. Housed behind the building directory at the Fairbanks Buildings entrance, the contents of the time capsule included articles from the April 5, 2001, issue of the Butler Collegian, a Macintosh PowerBook 100 LCD monitor, and the source code for Hunt the Wumpus, a game written for a computer science course. The plan is to open the time capsule during Butlers bicentennial in 2055. |
