| Description: |
This Irvington home was once the home of Dr. Jabez Hall, who was a Disciples of Christ (named changed to the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1968) reverend and a professor at both Butler University and the College of Missions. Hall was the professor of homiletics and pastoral theology at Butler University from 1897 until circa 1923. He was a popular professor and the junior class dedicated the 1921 Drift, Butlers yearbook, to him. It was also common for Butler alumni to ask him to serve as the officiant for their weddings and funerals, as well as for their childrens baptisms. |
