Description: |
The creation of a bulldog statue is underway and the face of the statue is highlighted in this photograph. Carved from Indiana limestone by Matthew Gray Palmer, in association with Old World Stone Carving, the statue was the senior class gift from the Class of 1996, which raised almost $4,000 to pay for the statue. The finished statue is 36 inches high by 48 inches deep by 31 inches wide and was carved from a 3,000 pound block of Indiana limestone, donated by Indiana Limestone and John Tucker. As of 2021, the bulldog statue still stands in its original location on the Butler University campus, on the south side of Atherton Union. |
