Description: |
The construction of Jordan Hall began in September 1926. Designed by architects Robert Frost Daggett and Thomas Hibben, the general contractor of the building was the Hegeman-Harris Company, which had built buildings for other universities including Yale, Harvard, and Columbia. When Jordan Hall opened on September 17, 1928, it was the only academic building on Butler Universitys Fairview campus and contained 54 classrooms, a science lecture hall that could seat 240 students, as well as other lecture halls for 150 to 200 students. |
