Jordan Hall under construction

Description: The construction of Jordan Hall began in September 1926, and the building was constructed of reinforced concrete with brick infill on the exterior walls. Designed in the Collegiate Gothic architectural style by architects Robert Frost Daggett and Thomas Hibben, it has 2,797 tons of Balfour pink granite and 2,500 tons of limestone covering the exterior walls. The stone is purely decorative and does not support the building structurally. When Jordan Hall opened on September 17, 1928, it was the only academic building on Butler Universitys Fairview campus.
