The Puzzle Took Hard WorkRealizing our newly-gained prestige andimportance, we entered our long-awaitedtwelfth year of school. As “SophisticatedSeniors” we began an honest year’s workwith the election of our class officers. Thefirst major order of business was the appointing of two dance chairmen and acommittee to supervise the big job ofafter-game dances. We then rolled up oursleeves and dug in on the yearbook. Weworked many long, hard hours under thedirection of our editor, whom we hadelected during our junior year. We alsoconcentrated on the inevitable governmentworksheets and senior research papers. InApril we had Senior Night and gave aplay, “Curse You, Jack Dalton!” andcalled our dance, “Swamp Stomp.”After working so hard, we were glad torelax and reveal our innerselves on SeniorTramp Day. After witnessing the solemnBaccalaurate, we “took off” for a week offun and relaxation. This was climaxed byour last big step, Commencement. As we march down the isle to “Pompand Circumstance,” our thoughts aremostly memories. But we will also be looking ahead . . . ahead to the future whicheach of us will have. Life is, indeed, acomplex puzzle, and now, as seniors, itis at last Beginning to fit together. As weleave these halls, we are saddened by therealiziation that our fun here is over; butwe shall face the future as a challenge. And, as when we were freshmen, we aredetermined to “make good!”■r“Care to buy a magazine?” One of the numerous but importantprojects of the senior class is that of magazine sales. W. R.Dunn, High Salesman for this year, and Runner-Up VeralynTurner, are shown here trying to get some money for their class. The seniors in this year’sgraduating class will alwaysremember Deane Kingsbury, who would have graduatedwith this class. However, itwas necessary that he leave theUnited States to spend a yearabroad with his parents. Nevertheless, Deane did not forgetUniversity School. He becamea foreign correspondent forThe Quad and wrote columnsabout his experiences and travels in Turkey. Here, we seeDeane interviewing one of theofficials of a secondary schoolin Turkey.Page thirty-one |
