Description: |
A few hours later we were aboard our plane and on our way. We had to land in Nevada overnightbecause of plane trouble. Just to kill time we decided to take in a movie. Looking in the papers we noticedthat there was to be a movie premier with none other than JERRY WISLEY playing the lead. That nightduring the movie we noticed a young man in a uniform surrounded by movie queens. Moving closer wenoticed it was the “Don Juan” of our graduating class, JAMES BROCK. Recognizing us he stopped to say“hello” and tell us that he was now a Corporal in the U.S. Army.Early the next morning we boarded our plane again and headed for Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri tovisit with LARRY PERRY. He is now married to the girl of his dreams. He is a Captain in the Army andon the side line coaches his three young sons so they will be able to play basketball as well as he did.Boarding a Greyhound in Missouri we headed for Grayson, Kentucky, where we had already made plans todine with ROSLYN CHAMBERS and her husband. Roslyn is an Instructor of English in the Christian BibleCollege there.Boarding a bus we further progressed toward Lexington, Kentucky, where RITA KIRKMAN has ahorse ranch. After arriving at Rita’s ranch we learned that she also teaches Physical Education at LexingtonHigh School. MARLENE DECKARD was also there resting after a world tour of playing concert piano. Wehad noticed in all the papers that the critics were raving over her marvelous talent. Marlene said she hasher own music school on State Road 37. Leaving Rita’s ranch we were at last homeward bound. We willalways have fond memories of those weeks in which we visited and renewed our acquaintance with all ourformer classmates. We are also glad that each had become a success in the field he has chosen. This is what we foresee for the year of 1970 for our classmates.Doris ToddandNancy Axsom |
