S. degrees.Before becoming County Superintendent he was a foreman in the Western Electric Company for three years, taughtone year in Clifford High School in Bartholomew County, andseven years in Bloomington High School.Since becoming Superintendent Mr. Poling has become interested in our school and other schools. He is always willingto lend a helping hand wherever he is needed.s=£=a^S3teft=a=a=5M£=«=sfc^^Carl Fritz RyanMr. Ryan, a well known and highly respected citizen of thiscommunity, was born and reared on a farm north of Bloomington.During this time he graduated from the Payne common school and attended Bloomington High School.In 1928 he and his family moved to Ellettsville and have residedhere since.Before becoming trustee, Mr. Ryan worked at Showers factoryfor twelve years as a veneer matcher.He has been trustee for three years and during this time he hasproved himself a loyal friend and capable leader.Clarence StewartMr. Stewart graduated from a one room elementary school in 1918 and from the SmithvilleHigh School in 1922. He attended Indiana University in the summer of 1922 and taught the sameone room school that he graduated from in theschool year of 1922-23. He taught school eachwinter and attended school each summer until 1936.All of this training has been taken at I. U. with theexception of two summers at Central Normal College. He is now working on his Ph.D. degree at I. U.Mr. Stewart has had twenty years of teachingexperience ranging from a one room school to principal of Ellettsville High School. |
