Cheeringon the girls basketballteam againstBloomington South wastheir November event.A Trip toRememberClassmates earn the opportunity to get up,grow up, and have some freedom touringvarious sites in Michigan.Oeven students in Mr. Carmichaels class went toMichigan together. They visited Lake Michigan and sawthe lighthouse, The Grand Hotel, and the EdmundFitzgerald Museum. Sophomore Wes Settle said hisfavorite part about the trip was probably getting to gothere and because it was fun going to the Grand Hoteland getting to be on an island where there are absolutelyno cars.At the museum they saw a canon being shot and apresentation of a gun. They were only there for six daysbut they were doing something always. They got to seeand enjoy so much in Michigan as a group of friends.I think my favorite part was the fort (a museum inMackinac Island) because it was cool and a neat up-highplace to go and it had an incredible view up there,junior Isabel Ball said.Mr. Carmichael and his students take a trip everyyear. They get to go as a reward for good grades,attendance, attitude and behavior. This was their eighthtrip going to several different places includingWashington, D.C. and St. Louis. While in Michiganthey went places they have learned about in U.S. history.I love this trip each year because it is a time for thekids to get away, grow up, and have some freedom whileat the same time it gives them a chance to learn aboutplaces that they may not get to go to or places that wehave studied about here in school, Mr. Carmichael said.reshmen Ja«ack Kovachackenzie Ale?up at the ende first half at the girlsstandMembers of Best Friendslook on at the game onNovember 11 during theirmonthly outing.
