Students chose a constellation of interest.Once the constellation was chosen, the studentswere asked to recreate its uniqueness on claytiles. Once complete, the observers were able tosee if the artists were stressed during themaking. The secondary project of this class, wasto make a box out of any materials they wished.Projects varied from duct taped and galaxypainted boxes.If its more vivid then that means were morestressed out. If its dull, that means were more hip. Deja said it took 5 class periods torelaxed and laid back, freshman Destanee Evans make her distinctive box.\said when questioned about the project.Destanees was neither stressed nor at peace,but rather neutral during the creation of herproject. Destanee Evans made a tile that wasunique; and was a constellation created byEgyptians.My goal for this class is to really press myselfto do more complicated pieces like this one,freshman Christina Griffith said.Aside from the tile project Christina Griffithclaims she enjoys art, this is why she chose 3-Dart as an elective.When she said to make a box, the first thingI thought of was something hip, junior DejaCallahan said.Deja made her box out of duct tape she foundlying around in her house and in the art room.Her box was sturdy, fun, and like she wanted,I was looking through a wallpaperbook and I found this cool earth andstars pattern, sophomore KimberlinThurman said when was asked how shecame up with her pattern.Kimberlin surprisingly added asecret compartment to her project.Kimberlin planned to use thecompartment to hide money and othervaluables from her little brother,becausehe enjoys taking it.From boxes to tiles, this 3-D artclass stretched as well as educated eachstudent. Human education was nolonger simply the basics such as: Math,Science, English and History. On thecontrary, each of the subjects wereincorporated nto the 3-D art projects. |
