Local fire officials and trucks stood by as shouting fans and excited cheerleaders set ablaze aneffigy of Mr. Univee in the opening night activities of Edgewood High Schools third annual Homecoming. Seniors carved a notch on the spirit stickfor their giant wood stack, the biggest of four classentries.Freshmen turned the tables the next night whenthey claimed first place for the best float in thepre-game parade. Half-time was the scene of moredoings, for Peggy Shepherd received the 1969Homecoming crown from Principal Thomas McCon-nell. Her court included Sandy Curry, Marsha Ledger-wood, Marcia Wood, and Linda Worstall.Spirits were dampened temporarily as the Univeesdefeated the Mustangs, but they were quickly revived at the after game dance in the cafeteria.Pe99Y Shepherd, 1969-70 Homecoming Queen, is crowned byAAr.
