D. Fleming drives around his manwith ease.Comeback KidsJ. Schoonover goes up and over foran easy two.Junior guard C. Pate looks to breakthis tight defense.Under the watchful andever optimistic eye of CoachBertch, the Mustangsdropped their opening fivegames. An outstandingthree quarter team, theMustangs could not seem tobring it all together at theright time. On Jan. 5 everything clicked. North Putnamwas the first to fall along atremendous eleven gamewinning streak that endedat Brown County. With eachgame, the players talentscame shining through. Forward Chad Pate lead in assists (148), steals (59), 3 pt.shots (46), and field goals(111). Pate shot an amazing41% from 3 pt. land and 51%from the floor. He alsoscored .8 points per minuteof play. The defensive rebound leader (84), GregGranger was also theblocked shot leader (37).Aaron Pence lead in offensive rebounds (54). MikePurcell had a team low .03errors per minute of play. Asimpressive as these statistics are, they alone did notsolely make the Mustangssuccessful. Rather it was adetermined work ethic andundieing faith in themselves. Sometimes athletics doesnt build character. It reveals it.Going for two from the paint, A.Pence does his Michael Jordan impression.Reserve: Row 1: D. Fleming, Z. Buckles, J. Boyle, C. Paulsen, M.
