bringing Frankenstein to lifeFreshmen and theater students alike saw Cardinal Stages production of Frankenstein atthe Buskirk-Chumley Theatre. Frankenstein is about a scientist, Victor Frankenstein, whomakes a creature that society ends up shunning. The creature meets a blind man, DeLacey, who teaches him about life. When the creature goes back to Frankenstein becausehe wants a female companion, the scientist makes the female, but later kills her becausehe fears they will have children. After the death of his companion, the creature goes for hisrevenge. Sophomore theater student Emma Hedges said that her favorite part of the playwas the beginning when the creature was being created: They had lights above him anda sound system that pulsed for his heartbeat. When the pulses happened, the lightsflashed, and it was really bright.Mm mkbpnhHOSA turkey trotGothic Yearbook talked to senior EmilyBrown about her involvement in HOSAand the Turkey Trot.Q: What is HOSA and how did you become involved in it?A: HOSA is an international organization for future healthprofessionals. We have conferences and competitions whereyou can network, earn scholarships, and learn more aboutspecific fields in health care and leadership. I got involved inHOSA during my junior year in Project Lead the Way classes.Q: Why does HOSA host the Turkey Trot?A: This is the second year for the Turkey Trot, and I would saythat it is important for people to come out and support mentalhealth and ending the stigma.Q; What will you use the money you raise during the turkey trotfor?A: All of the proceeds go to the National Association for MentalIllness (NAMI).
