CommunityLeadership Building is a groupthat promotes diversity andinclusion within South and thecommunity. Mix It Up, anational event reflects theircore values. To mix things up,students chose a color andsat at the correspondingtable, where they met newpeople. Along with switchingup the lunch seating, studentsalso entered a raffle to winvarious gift cards. DJ Maddog(Madison True) providedbackground music.The event allowed juniorAfua Dakwa to learn newthings about the people (she)was already friends with, abut she also made newfriends and met new people.Senior Haley Byrnes, amember of the CommunityLeadership Building Group,enjoyed seeing the diversitywithin our school while sheparticipated in the event.Mix It Up allowed studentsto engage with each otherand make new friends alongthe way.Later in the year, thegroup participated increating a mural in thecafeteria promoting diversity,as well as participating in abookclub.-Caroline Conrad154Victoria TedersfreshmanI.
