Description: Panther Girls Prove Ardent Supporters.THROUGH THE ups and downsof BHS athletic endeavors, the girlsof BHS did their utmost to supporttheir teams. Many of them were involved in the various organizationsformed to help BHS coaches andcheer on the athletes. The pompettesbegan the year under the direction ofnew sponsors, Mrs. Smith and Mrs.McCormick. The girls executed theirperformances with a new focus onprecision which incorporatedmarching for the first time. Thesquad worked two nights a weekand in an effort to perfect their com-plexed routines traveled to Vin-cennes University to attend a training camp.The cinderellas kept track ofthings for Coach Goss the year. Theyworked at all home cross-countryand track meets keeping score, timing, and boosting the Panther cinder-men. The tankerbelles did the samefor swimming, and the wrestlerettesoffered their services to the wrestling team. Most of what these girlsdid occurred behind the scenes.They all put in long hours of service.Making breakfast for basketballplayers, garishly decorating G-2 forthe football team, baking cookies orpainting signs, the ladies were always busy. They proved to be themost active of Bloomingtons athleticsupporters, and their work wasmuch appreciated.(Top) The voice of BHS, Brad May, and wrestlerettes Kim Beatty and Becky Burchfieldwatch anxiously during the holiday tournament.
