Description:	hOlTie(coming) ofthe panthersSouth hosts a homecoming game,court, and dance each year.Every year Bloomington HighSchool South hostshomecoming. The eventincludes a game, court, anddance. Homecoming is a veryexciting event for studentsand many look forward to iteach year.Plenty of students attendthe regular South footballgames, but even more attendthe homecoming game.Those gathered together inthe student section chant andshake milk jugs to cheer forthe team. Junior SerenaDajani was glad she went tothe homecoming gamebecause she hung out withfriends that (she) hadnt seenin forever and got to watchthe South football team endthe night with a win. However,despite the end of the game,the homecoming events werefar from over.South holds an electionfor homecoming court-members, during whichstudents vote online for whothey want to be on thehomecoming court.Homecoming court memberswalk the track during halftimeof the football game. Seniorand homecoming courtmember, Mallory Humphreysaid her favorite part aboutbeing on court was standingon the track and (her) peerscheering and yelling for her.After the court members wereintroduced, the homecomingking and queen wereannounced. The 2017Homecoming King andQueen were seniors WilliamGibbons and Clara Smith. Afterthat, the South dance teamand band perform to endhalftime.At the end of the game,South students made theirway over to the school for theannual homecoming dance.The dance allowed studentsto have fun with their friendsand dance around while theDJ played popular music.Freshman Abigail Weaver saidshe danced a lot (and)thought the music was good.All in all, this yearshomecoming was a successand left much to look forwardto next year.-Lauren Gaterm %16Tori Masonjunior
