Organizer MrJay True awaited the start time to see what directionthis years show would take.The 2016 show took an interesting turn, and inthis case, many of the talents had to make the mostof the night. With kinks in the sound and severallighting mistakes, the audience and the acts had tobe patient with the stage hands. Junior cohost LuciaDavila thought quickly on her feet. [We]experienced many technical difficulties during show,however, it added to the fun and called forimprovisation, Davila said. Senior LeighaStephney, a four-year talent show participant, hadthe sound go static on her. I laughed the problemsoff, Stephney said. I smiled and made sure to movearound on stage. If sound is the problem, you play itoff and project your voice.Many acts, regardless ofthe mishaps, kept on smiling and working throughthe hastle.Keeping the audiences attention wasnt hard -many audience members and talents worked to keep|the mood upbeat. Sophomore Malik Davis took it|upon himself to make fun with the audience, I stooduiDanc^nToiirSgecn^^said. It took a lot of courage for the some of the kidsto get up there. I didnt want them to feelembarrassed. Davis saved the show in his own way,using his dance talent to get the audience moving.Junior Henry Ruff and sophomore Daniel Deckard,returning talent performers, shredded up the stagewith their musical talents. The show ran really long,so with the tech difficulties; it seemed to lastforever, Ruff said. I made sure to be positive andsmile a lot. Deckard noticed the pacing and tried toliven up the crowd. Danny started going crazy on theguitar, Ruff said. Overall, in the face of all of theproblems, the mood of the talent show remainedupbeat. The acts put in a team effort to keep theshow going and make it the most fun for everybodyinvolved.-ELLIE PEMBERTON
