Description: PHOTO BY SARAH PAYNEfall athleticachievementsThe lack of team members did not stop the girls varsity soccer tearfrom having a tremendous season, finishing with a record of 13-5-1. The team was led by freshman Hope Gummere, seniorCaroline Tann, junior Reagan Knorr, and sophomore AudreyCadag. The leadership of the girls in each class helped to push thteam to perform their best. With a heart-breaking 1-0 sectionalchampionship loss to Bloomington High School North, the LadyPanthers ended the season proud of what they had left on the field.The Boys South Soccer team had their seconddominant season in a row, making a semi-stateappearance once again coming off of a regionalchampionship. After this year, the senior classconcluded four straight regional championships, afirst-time feat for South soccer history. Thecaptains, including key players like juniors JasonCherry and John Bannec and senior WilliamMoore, stepped up to their leadership rolethroughout the season leading the team to a 17-4-1 record. There were many inspiring wins of theseason; however, the most memorable includedthree straight victories over Bloomington HighSchool North and the regional final againstEvansville Memorial High School.Despite being a young team this year, thevolleyball team delivered with nine wins inthe regular season. They worked hard tobecome stronger as a team. The Panthersbeat a multitude of teams includingColumbus East High School to winconference.
