hisIN OUR NATURAL [HABITAT]Habitat For Humanity is a non-profit group that helps thecommunity by building houses for those who are inneed. It is a group made up of mostly volunteers thathelps people in the community not only have a home butalso have a sustainable and self reliant attitude. Thepeople we help dont just get the home for free, seniorJoshua Burdine said, they help us build and pay anaffordable mortgage on the house. He explained thatthis way, they have to work and show they are willing tohelp out to accomplish the end goal. Burdine is one ofthe members of Souths Habitat for Humanity club. ManySouth students have gotten involved with habitat and arehelping build peoples homes. Its a lot of fun andoverall a very rewarding experience, Burdine said. As acelebration and fundraiser, South Habitat held a picnic atBryan Park with food and games. The main purpose ofthe picnic was to build up a budget for the club tosponsor specific things like bathtubs, sinks or cabinets,senior Wynne Milhouse said. PHOTOS BY SARAH BROWNI. Morris was also acknowledged forhaving received the Jesse and Beulah Cox Exploratory Scholarship -a full ride scholarship to Indiana University. Morris will beattending IU in the fall. The Honor night was a night to celebratethe accomplishments of Hoosier Hills Students. II. Senior MarinaBlackwell accepts a certificate for participating in NationalTechnical Honor Society. Blackwell was also acknowledged forhaving received the B/MD scholarship from Indiana University andthe University of Southern Indiana.
